What is interpretation
Interpretation is interpreter’s acquisition of the meaning of an oral phrase in the source language, and the translation of this meaning into the target language taking into account all lexical, grammatical and stylistic specifics of this language.

Interpretation has a number of significant differences from written translation:
Translating in two directions (from and into the language) in parallel, the interpreter has to continuously «switch over»;
There is virtually no time for thinking about the translation, which requires interpreter’s ability to find the idea of the message as fast as possible and translate it with maximum detail;
The interpreter does not have an opportunity to forecast the course of the conversation and understand the context of a separate phrase, which reduces the scope of information, which he/she may rely on in translation. This is further complicated by the fact that in oral speech phrases may be less logical than in the written speech;
The interpreter, normally, stylistically corrects original speech, presenting the translation within the limits of the formal business style.
Types of interpretation
Consecutive translation;
Simultaneous translation.
