What is document requesting

Document requesting is the procedure of obtaining from the authorities public documents issued by them, or their duplicates.

Documents, subject to requesting

– birth certificate;

– death certificate;

– marriage certificate;

– divorce certificate;

– archive employment certificate;

– archive salary certificate;

– archive certificate of the military service in the Soviet (Russian) Army;

– archive certificate on staying in Russia during World War II;

– archive certificate convictions (if any) during the period of stay in Russia;

– archive certificate on rehabilitation;

– archive certificate on transferring to Germany for forced labour;

Duplicates of public registration certificates are issued to:

– persons with relevant civil status;

– relatives of the late person;

– parents (their substitutes) or guardianship and wardship authorities for the minors under 18 ;

– other persons acting under the Power of Attorney of the persons, entitled to receiving a certificate duplicate.

Documents, not subject to requesting

– work record book original;

– pensioner ID card original;

– military registration card;

– driving license;

– marriage certificate, provided the married is cancelled or recognized invalid;

– birth certificate of the late person;

– identification document;

– marital status certificate;

– personal record;

– application, submitted to the bodies of interior affairs while preparing documents for the permanent residence abroad.

In case of leaving the Russian Federation for permanent residence the original documents are given to the respective RF local authorities, and based on them certificates on the work experience and military service are issued.

Certificate duplicates are not issued:

– birth certificates – to a parent (parents), deprived of or restricted in parental rights;

– marriage certificate – to the persons, cancelling the marriage and to the persons, whose marriage was recognized invalid.

Documents are requested in the following authorities

Depending on the document, requests are considered in the following governmental authorities of the Russian Federation:

– Federal Archive Service of the Russian Federation and its subordinate federal archives and archives in the constituent territories of the federation;

– Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation;

– Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Russian Federation;

– Ministry of Labour and Social Development of the Russian Federation;

– Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation;

– Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation (registration bodies);

– Russian Red Cross Tracing and Information Centre.
